Journal of Contemporary Issues in Business and Government, 2022, Volume 28, Issue 3, Pages 612-620
DOI: 10.47750/cibg.2022.28.03.047

Entrepreneurship is an area that has attained importance in today‟s era. Entrepreneurship is a key
component of India‟s 2020 strategy for sustainable, smart, and inclusive growth as 75 percent of the
population residing in villages is still involved in agriculture and allied activities. Government alone
can‟t generate employment opportunities for villagers. Thus, individuals are welcomed and
promoted to undertake the entrepreneurial task in rural areas. Rural entrepreneurship not only
generates employment opportunities but also puts a check on the migration of youth towards urban
areas. Through efficient and effective utilization of national resources, rural entrepreneurs act as
catalysts for economic development and agents of social transformation and change. Enormous
opportunities are available in rural industrialisation, if a person is passionate about being an
entrepreneur. Though challenges like family, finance, poor infrastructure, mall culture are there in
the path of rural entrepreneurship self-motivation and feel of personal achievement can make every
dream a possible thing.

With the population increasing day by day, there seems to be a need for more and more
development. As a result, there are more and more companies and businesses coming up
lately. Some companies function singularly until its existence, but some companies officially
join another company and combine to form a single unit. This single unit formed from two or
more different companies then works as another unit. The telecom sector of our country is
also increasing day by day. With the increasing population, the demands in the telecom sector
have also increased. Earlier there used to one old fashioned phone in one society or colony
for use by all but in today’s era, a child even of 10 years of age is given a mobile phone and
even the lower or poor class can afford a mobile phone too. Today mobile phones have been
a necessity more than a luxury where we can keep in touch with our near ones easily.
Mergers and Acquisitions are seen even in this sector of the country

To address their specific vulnerabilities a complete, multi-sectorial expansion needs to be developed. Capitalizing in schooling for girl’s changes relations, nations and the biosphere at large. Girls receiving a teaching are less likely to marry young and can lead a healthy, productive life. Teaching for girls recovers frugalities and disruptions down dissimilarity. Also it leads to more protected inclusive societies that deliver occasions for all individuals-including boys and men-to understand their possible.

Ever since the commencement of urbanization in India, slums have been co-existed in the urban areas, especially in the major cities. The incidence of slum is spread across almost all the states of the Union of India at varied levels. In fact, the number of slums and the incidence are at alarming level in the case of a group of states. The public efforts for development of the urban slums to make them human settlement friendly and then an integral part of urban life have had many setbacks. They mainly include the ad hoc approaches which were in vogue till the end of Tenth Five Year Plan. Lack of public policy commitment coupled with inadequate public finance, concerted efforts for the improvement of housing and living conditions of the slum dwellers have been the major impediments. But the national consensus evolved from late 90s heralded several initiatives to achieve slum-free urban India, which has brought considerable improvement. Under the windfall, slums have put up a decent level of achievements, in terms of the development of the living standard, access to housing amenities, degraded environment and marginalising the development gaps. Although slums have achieved better performance than their hosts (urban areas) but not only the overall development interventions must be stepped up but have to still go a long way. Achieving slum-free urban India is a gigantic task that needs huge investment not just from the government but also from others as well. Given the challenging considerations, this research offers a few policy implications like other corporate players part,  integrated approach for both development of housing and amenities as well to improve the degraded environment, vigilant role of urban local bodies to mainstream the urban slums.

Journal of Contemporary Issues in Business and Government, 2021, Volume 27, Issue 1, Pages 4426-4443

This study is an attempt to provide comprehensive information and explore the significance of the role of folk media as a powerful tool towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 3 in India. The methodology adopted is the analysis of case studies developed through in-depth interview to show the impact of folk media in attaining the objectives. Communication plays a fundamental role in disseminating information, encouraging participation, and stimulating community action. Any program for development is a failure if the people are treated as mere recipients rather than active participants. Involving people as contributors to change and progress will accelerate the process of development. Third world countries like India have been facing odd situations in terms of poverty, environment, health, politics, and education. There have been efforts by the government and non- government agencies to sensitize the citizens and to make them acknowledge the programs intended at improving their socio-economic welfare. Communication is a vital tool in mobilizing people in the direction of the participatory process which in turn makes development an achievable goal. Traditional folk media forms have a personal appeal as they are close to the minds and hearts of the people. Folk arts like Tamasha, Nautanki, Puppetry, Bhand Pather have been used time and again to instruct the masses and bring about a change. The common denominator of communication and development is participation, hence traditional folk media forms can be used effectively for development as they work on the Participatory model.
